The Academy for Oriental Music and Dance Arts is dedicated to preserving Eastern performing arts and fostering a cultural bridge between East and West. Through music, dance, and artistic collaboration, we cultivate talent, celebrate tradition, and bring the beauty of the arts to the world.
History and Background
The Academy for Oriental Music and Dance Arts was established in late 2019, initiated by the esteemed vocal artist Shuping Ma and the celebrated dance performer Rina Suo, along with several art enthusiasts in the Detroit area. What began as a shared passion for Eastern performing arts quickly evolved into a formal organization aimed at promoting and preserving these traditions in the Midwest and beyond.
As a non-profit organization registered in both Michigan and federally in the United States, the Academy has since become a hub for artists, students, and performers. It provides a platform for vocal and dance talents to grow, share their art, and create connections that transcend cultural boundaries. Our performances have captivated audiences across the greater Detroit area and Windsor, Canada, and we look forward to bringing the richness of Eastern art forms to wider audiences in the future.
