The Academy for Oriental Music and Dance Arts Choir was honored to participate in the Windsor Choral Festival 2026, hosted by the Windsor Classic Chorale. This prestigious international gathering brought together outstanding choirs from across North America and beyond, celebrating the beauty of choral music and cross-cultural collaboration.
Under the direction of Ma Shuping, our choir presented two carefully selected works that showcased both Western and Eastern musical traditions:
-
“The Snow” by Edward Elgar — a lyrical English part-song performed with Chinese-translated lyrics, highlighting its delicate harmonies and expressive warmth while bringing the work closer to our audience.
-
“Looking Back Again” by Lu Guanyan — a contemporary Chinese choral piece rich in emotional depth and cultural resonance
The performance was warmly received by audiences and fellow musicians alike, highlighting the Academy’s commitment to artistic excellence and cultural exchange.
Following the festival, the organizers expressed their sincere appreciation in a formal letter to our conductor, praising the choir’s musical sensitivity, blend, and expressive interpretation. The recognition reflects the dedication, discipline, and passion of every choir member.
Participation in the festival provided a meaningful opportunity to connect with other ensembles, share diverse musical traditions, and represent our community on an international stage. It also reaffirmed our mission to build bridges between Eastern and Western cultures through the universal language of music.
We are deeply grateful to the Windsor Classic Chorale for this invitation and to all supporters who made this memorable experience possible. We look forward to continuing our journey of musical excellence and cultural exchange in future performances.
